DE VRIES, YOUNG BUT GREAT
Nyck De Vries is great at La Conca as he monopolizes
the game in KF3. We had already set our eyes on him
at the last Winter Cup and then at the Margutti, when
we wanted to really take a close look at this youngster,
at the way he was making his debut in the racing world,
how he’s managed to find the right compromise to gain
success. He’s a young kid, almost drawing fatherly love,
but he’s strong, and lives this fairy tale naturally. Just to
give you an idea, he’s about 1.40 meter tall and this lad
from Holland has to use a Minikart seat, and supports
for footrest, but most amazing, is the 26 kg ballast that
he’s got to have, to reach minimum weight requested for
racing (145 kg). This requirement
seems to have
advantage for the Dutch
driver, managed by Dino
Chiesa, with the weights
properly positioned,
barycentre is improved
and there’s better trackhold
on corner entry. In
any case you must be
good at using your foot.

Nyck is certainly a brilliant driver. Well, after taking an
easy WSK win, we can quite certainly say that he’s heading
for a bright future. However, let’s wait and see how
the next races go, after his performance in Muro Leccese,
to see if Nyck De Vries confirms his skill as a winning
champion driver.
